Where your pet items go
Clean, usable pet items left at STAY Camden, such as beds, toys, bowls and cages, now go to Cats Protection’s Hendon centre. They go straight to the animals in its care, providing comfort and enrichment rather than being thrown away.
The Hendon centre in North London cares for abandoned and vulnerable cats, providing veterinary treatment and finding them new homes. Through our partnership, pet belongings left behind can still be put to good use.
Part of our sustainability commitment
This sits alongside our other work in the building and the local area, which you can read about on our sustainability page. Donating usable pet items rather than disposing of them keeps them in use for longer, supports animal welfare and connects us with a local organisation doing valuable work.
How it works
Our team follows established lost-and-found procedures for all pet items left behind. Once the required holding period has passed and items remain unclaimed, suitable donations are collected and delivered to Cats Protection. This ensures every effort is made to reunite guests with their belongings before items are redirected to support animals in need.
Our partnership begins with Cats Protection, but we’re always open to new ideas. Know an animal welfare organisation that could use support? We’d be interested to hear about it.
If you’re staying with a pet and have items you no longer need, you’re also welcome to leave them at reception for Cats Protection.
