At STAY, sustainability is managed day to day by our Green Team, with support from sustainability consultants Mission: Net Zero. Together they look at how we run the building, from energy and water to waste and sourcing. We also work with neighbours and organisations across Camden.

For every booking at STAY Camden, we plant a tree.

How it works

We work with More Trees to plant a tree for every booking at STAY Camden. The trees go to reforestation projects in the UK and overseas, and it applies whether you stay for a week, a month or longer.

Where the trees are planted

Each month we support a different project. Current locations include the UK, Canada, Haiti, Senegal, Tanzania and Kenya. Each project has its own focus, from restoring degraded land to supporting communities that rely on local forests.

Closer to home, one of the UK projects is in Dartford, Kent, just off the Dartford Crossing. Managed by Time4Trees, it plants a mix of native species: oak, beech, silver birch, rowan, field maple, wild cherry and wild service tree.

Why reforestation matters

Well-managed reforestation can restore habitats for native wildlife, protect soil from erosion and create green space for the people who live nearby. Over time, growing trees also take carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
